# DFIND Staking

#### What is Staking?

Staking is a way to put *your DFIND tokens to work* while contributing to the network’s security and governance. Instead of just holding DFIND in your wallet, you can lock them for a set period to earn rewards. The longer you commit, the higher the rewards you receive.

**How Staking Rewards Are Calculated**

Your rewards are determined using this formula:

`Reward (DFIND) = Ts × Pm × Vm × Sl`

*Where*:

* Ts = Tokens staked
* Pm = Base monthly reward rate (3.05%)
* Vm = Volume Multiplier (varies by stake size)
* Sl = Staking Period Multiplier (longer staking = higher rewards)

*Example Calculation*

If you stake 50,000 DFIND for 12 months, here’s how your rewards are calculated:

&#x20;Volume Multiplier (Vm): 1.10 (based on stake size)

&#x20;Staking Period Multiplier (Sl): 1.50 (for 12 months)

Monthly Reward Calculation:

50,000 × 0.0305 × 1.10 × 1.50 = 2,520 DFIND per month

Total Annual Reward:

2,520 × 12 = 30,240 DFIND
